Teach, check and reteach in the same lesson
Teach from the PDFs you already have on the smart board, run practice that marks itself and watch each student's progress as they answer, so you can help the ones who are stuck before the bell.
The teaching day is full enough
Prep takes your evenings
Building practice for every topic, at more than one level, takes hours you don't have.
Your resources sit still
Your worksheets and slide decks are ready, but as files they can't be written on or answered in class.
You can't see who's stuck
In a full class, the student who's been lost for five minutes is easy to miss.
Marking piles up
You find out who understood long after the lesson, when you mark the books at home.
One tool for the whole lesson cycle
Teach from what you have
Upload your PDFs, including slide decks exported as PDF, and annotate them live without rebuilding anything.
Teach live on the board
Present, write and model on the classroom display while students' screens follow your page.
Generate practice with AI
Draft questions for a topic in seconds, then review and edit before you assign.
See every student live
Watch progress fill in, spot who's struggling, and reteach on the spot.
See the ClassKite teaching cycle in action
Watch how teachers explain a concept, launch a short practice, monitor students live, and move on when the class is ready.
Built into every class
The tools you use every day for lessons, students and records.
Teacher and student layers
You teach on your own layer and each student works on theirs. Open any student's layer to leave private feedback on their work.
Self-practice and revision
Reopen the practice from lessons you've already taught, so students can revise and practise at home with instant feedback.
Two ways to add students
Students enter your join code, or you import a spreadsheet of names and emails and ClassKite creates their accounts.
Practice your way
Run live practice with free navigation, shuffled questions, or SBQ (School Based Quiz) mode for a one-attempt check with results you release.
A report for every session
Every live practice and every self-practice session gets its own detailed report, with a row for each student.
A Gradebook that fills itself in
Every practice becomes a column, each student gets an overall grade from a policy you can read, and you publish report cards from the same figures.
Copy a class
Start a new class from one you've already built, whole or just the sections you choose. Your material comes across; students and results never do.
Quiz conditions
SBQ quizzes turn copying off and show you which answers came after a student left the page. On iPads, Safe Exam Browser locks the device to the quiz.
What changes for you
Save preparation time
Reuse what you already have, and let AI draft practice for you to review instead of starting from scratch.
Teach visually
Model methods live with calligraphy ink on any PDF, on your smart board or a tablet.
See every student
The live grid shows who's done, who's stuck and who's asked for help, as it happens.
Mark less
Live practice is checked the moment students answer, so the marking pile shrinks.
Show progress
Per-session reports and a Gradebook give you evidence of learning, with CSV and Excel export and report cards as PDF.
Reuse lessons
Your annotated lessons save automatically, and your question banks are ready to reuse next time.
Teacher FAQ
Can I use my existing PDFs?
Yes. Upload your PDFs and teach from them (export slide decks to PDF first). Your annotations save automatically, ready to reuse.
Does ClassKite work on smart boards and tablets?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so it works on classroom smart boards, laptops and tablets with nothing to install.
Does it mark student work automatically?
Yes. Answers in live and self-paced practice are checked the moment a student submits, with instant right/wrong feedback. In an SBQ quiz, answers are marked the same way but students see their results only when you release them.
Is there a free plan for teachers?
Yes. Teacher Basic is free, and Teacher Plus adds AI question generation and class analytics (the live grid, reports and the Gradebook). See the pricing page for details.
Do my students need paid accounts?
No. Students join with a free account and never pay.
How do students get into my class?
Share your join code and students join with it, or import a spreadsheet of names and emails and ClassKite creates their accounts for you.
Can I stop students using AI during a quiz?
SBQ mode discourages it and shows it to you: copying the questions is turned off, students are told what you can see, and answers given after a student left the page are flagged. On iPads, Safe Exam Browser locks the device to the quiz until you end the session. No website can stop a photo taken with a phone, so phones away still matters.
Is there a gradebook?
Yes. Each class has a Gradebook that fills itself from every practice and quiz and works out an overall grade for each student, with report cards as PDF and Excel export. Scores come from the practices themselves; they are not typed in.
Can students practise at home?
Yes. Open any practice for self-practice and students can revisit it on their own devices, with instant feedback and the option to retake it.
