The problem
Leaders want evidence of progress, and you want to know who is secure and who needs another go. Piecing that together by hand means spreadsheets you don't have time for.
Every session, reported in full
Whenever your class practises, whether live in the lesson or in their own time, ClassKite records it as a session and builds the report for you. Each session shows how many students took part, the average score, how much of the class got questions right first time and how much they solved in the end. Open it up and every student has their own row: best score, completed attempts with the latest score beside it, questions completed, answers, right first time, solved, and, for live sessions, how often they left or stepped away. Students who never opened the practice are listed too, and you can list the class A to Z, Z to A or by score. Self-practice sessions sit in the same list as your live lessons, clearly labelled, and a score-trend chart shows how the class is moving over time.

In the classroom
On Monday morning, a teacher opens the class report and sees Friday's live quiz next to the self-practice she opened for the weekend. Twenty-two students finished it, three never opened it, and two solved everything but got very little right first time. She knows who to check in with before the lesson starts.

Frequently asked questions
What's in a session report?
How many students took part, the average score, how much the class got right first time and how much it solved in the end. A session nobody took part in shows a dash, not an average of zero. Below that, every student in the class has a row showing their best score, how many times they completed it and their latest score, questions completed, answers, right first time and solved, plus how often they left or stepped away during a live session.
Are self-practice sessions reported too?
Yes. Every self-practice session gets its own detailed report, just like a live lesson. It appears in the same session list with a "Self-practice" label, so homework and classwork sit side by side. The only difference is that leaving and stepping away are counted for live sessions only.
What do reports show for an SBQ quiz?
An "After leaving" column shows how many of each student's answers were flagged, and how many of those were correct. An answer is flagged when the student was away from the page for 5 seconds or more in total, or tried to copy the question, while it was on screen. The session's CSV file includes the same two numbers. Treat them as a reason to talk with the student, not as proof.
What happens to the report when a student retakes a practice?
Reports count each student's best completed attempt and show their latest completed score beside it; the Gradebook does the same unless its grading policy counts the most recent attempt. A retake that is still in progress is marked as such, and never lowers or replaces a finished result.
What do students see in their own reports?
Students see their own results in My Reports. Self-practice you opened for them that they have not done is listed as Missing, with a link to start it while it is open, and is not counted as a zero. A result you removed in the Gradebook is left out of their reports, and one you excused is shown as not counted.
Can I export the data?
Yes. Download any single session as a CSV file, or export a whole class as an Excel workbook, choosing the date range and the practice types to include. Both carry each student's best score, completed attempts and latest completed score.
Can I see one term at a time?
Yes. Once a school year with terms is set up, reports open on the current term and you can switch to another term or to all terms. Classes archived at the end of a year stay readable in Reports.
Do the sessions add up to a grade?
Yes, in the Gradebook. It puts every practice of a class in one grid and works out an overall grade for each student from your grading policy, with a class dashboard, individual reports and report cards. Reports stay the place to read one session in detail.
Can I monitor each student's progress over time?
Yes, across the practices your class does in ClassKite. Every session report has a row for each student, the class report shows the score trend, and the Gradebook's individual report shows one student's trend across the term. ClassKite does not track progress against curriculum standards or skills.
