The problem
A topic isn't learned the moment it is taught. Students need to come back to it, but printed revision sheets go unmarked, and by the time you find out who struggled, the class has moved on.
The lessons you've taught, ready to revisit
Every practice you run in class can be reopened for self-practice with a single click. Students find it on their dashboard under "Open for self-practice", work through it at their own pace and see straight away whether each answer is right. If they get a question wrong, they try again before moving on, and they can retake the whole practice as often as they like. To revise a whole lesson, tick several practices and open them together as one self-practice, or accept the prompt ClassKite offers when a live lesson ends. Alongside the practice, students can go back to the lesson material itself, including the notes you wrote on it, in any section you have shared with them. You decide what is open and close it when you are ready, and every self-practice session appears in your reports next to your live lessons.

In the classroom
When the bell goes on Thursday, a teacher accepts the prompt to hand the lesson back as one self-practice and names it "Circle theorems review". Over the weekend, students work through it at home, and two retake it before Monday's quiz. On Monday morning, the report shows who has practised and who hasn't opened it yet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I turn on self-practice?
On your Classes page, find the practice and click "Open for self-practice". To revise a whole lesson, choose "Open several as one self-practice…", tick the practices you want, give the set a name and open it for students. The section needs to be shared with students and the practice needs to have questions.
What do students see?
An "Open for self-practice" list on their dashboard, showing each practice, its section, the number of questions and whether they have finished it. They answer on their own devices, in the browser, with instant feedback.
Can students revise the lesson itself, not just the questions?
Yes. In any section you have shared, students can reopen the lesson material and view your notes on it in the Teacher view. The practice itself shows the questions only.
Can students retake a self-practice?
Yes. They can retake it whenever they like, and your report shows which run you are looking at.
Can I set a due date?
Not at the moment. A self-practice stays open until you close it, and there are no automatic deadlines or reminders.
Is self-practice free?
Yes, opening practice for self-practice is free on every plan. The detailed reports on each session are part of ClassKite Plus and the School plan.
