ClassKite is built around classroom roles: teachers work with their own classes, and school admins manage teachers, classes and seats. Our policies set out how data is handled, so you can review them before you roll out.
School plan FAQ
How does per-15-seat billing work?
Schools are billed in blocks of 15 seats. The listed price covers up to 15 seats, and the seat count rounds up to whole blocks (16 to 30 seats is 2 blocks, and so on). Each covered teacher gets everything in Teacher Plus, and admins add or remove seats as the team changes.
How do payment and cancellation work?
Schools pay through PayPal, monthly or annually, as one subscription for the whole school rather than per teacher. Admins change the number of seats on the billing page, and Manage billing there opens the subscription in PayPal, where it can be cancelled; PayPal sends the receipts. If the subscription lapses, the school has a 15-day grace period, is then deactivated with its data kept, and is deleted 12 months later if it stays unpaid, after email warnings. For specific procurement needs, get in touch.
Who can see student data?
Teachers see the students in their own classes. School admins manage teachers, classes and seats, and can open the Gradebook of any class in the school, which shows students' results. Students see only their own. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled and stored.
Can the school sign up centrally instead of each teacher paying?
Yes. A school admin registers the school, chooses the number of seats and invites teachers into the school's account. Each invited teacher takes a seat and gets the same features as Teacher Plus through the School plan. Teachers still sign in with their own accounts, but nobody pays individually.
Can we start small and grow?
Yes. The minimum is one 15-seat block, and you can add seats as more teachers join. Annual billing costs less than paying monthly.
What do teachers get on the School plan?
Everything in Teacher Plus for every covered teacher: AI question generation, question-bank import, large PDF uploads, reports, the Gradebook with report cards, the live student grid, the sessions log, and score trends.
Can ClassKite import our rosters?
Yes. School admins can bulk-import teachers, classes and student rosters from Excel templates in the admin console, so nobody has to be added one at a time.
Does it work on smart boards and tablets?
Yes. ClassKite runs in the browser, so it works on classroom smart boards, laptops and tablets with nothing to install. The one optional app is Safe Exam Browser, for locked quizzes on iPads.
Can teachers run quizzes under quiz conditions?
Yes, for classroom quizzes. In SBQ (School Based Quiz) mode, copying the questions is turned off, students are told that their teacher can see if they leave the page, and teachers see which answers were given after a student did. On iPads, teachers can also require Safe Exam Browser, a free app that locks the iPad to the quiz until the teacher ends the session; Chromebooks and Android devices can't run it. No website can stop a photo taken with a phone, so phones away still matters.
Can leaders see progress reports?
Yes. Teachers get per-session and per-student reports, the Gradebook and the live student grid. School admins get a school-wide activity overview, can open the Gradebook and individual reports of any class, and set the grading policies the school uses, with a preview of whose grades would change before a policy is applied. They also set up the school year and its terms, close a term or the year for every class, and download a whole term or year as one archive. Every figure comes from work students did in ClassKite.
How is student data protected?
ClassKite runs on EU infrastructure, doesn't sell personal information, encrypts data in transit, and uses role-based access. See the Trust & security page and Privacy Policy for the full detail.
