Frequently asked questions
Is this a formative or summative assessment tool?
Both work, but it shines for formative assessment: results are instant, so you can adjust the lesson while it's happening. You can also run a longer quiz and export the results.
Are answers marked automatically?
Yes. All six question types are auto-marked: multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank (word or number), matching and jumbled sentence. You set the answer key when you create or review each question. A blank takes one word or one number and is matched exactly (capitals don't matter). There are no short-answer, free-text or essay questions, and no partial marks.
Is there exam proctoring or lockdown?
There is no webcam proctoring. For a class quiz, SBQ mode adds quiz conditions: copying the questions is turned off, and you see which answers were given after a student left the page. On iPads, you can also require Safe Exam Browser, which locks the iPad to the quiz until you end the session. ClassKite is built for classroom checks and quizzes, not for remotely invigilated exams.
